Terms of Service
Effective date: May 16, 2026 · Last updated: May 24, 2026
1. Introduction and acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of kResearch, including the websites at krsrch.com and app.krsrch.com and any related kResearch web application pages, features and APIs (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Medical Disclaimer, and the Pricing & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
The Service is operated by Протасов Александр Романович (Protasov Alexander Romanovich), an individual taxpayer registered under the Russian “Tax on Professional Income” regime (self-employed status).
- Tax ID (ИНН): 663905577316
- Contact email: [email protected]
In these Terms, “kResearch”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator above. “You” refers to the person or organization accessing the Service.
3. What kResearch is
kResearch is a research workflow toolkit. It helps users assemble small clinical and behavioural research workflows, including:
- study structure (titles, descriptions, target population, custom sections);
- selection from a catalog of validated psychometric scales and the user’s own personal scale library;
- generation of patient-facing and clinician-facing Google Forms and a linked Google Sheet (when the user authorizes Google access);
- codebooks, scoring metadata, variable layouts and downloadable research-kit ZIPs;
- AI-assisted drafting features (study plans, scale recommendations, extraction of structure from uploaded PDF/DOCX questionnaires);
- workspace tools for clinicians, residents, PhD students, psychologists and small research teams.
4. What kResearch is NOT
The Service is explicitly NOT:
- a medical device;
- a diagnostic or treatment tool;
- medical advice;
- emergency care or any form of crisis service;
- a regulated electronic data capture (EDC) system, clinical trial management system (CTMS) or electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO) platform;
- validated for clinical care or clinical decision-making;
- a replacement for institutional review board / ethics committee review, data protection review, legal review or qualified professional supervision.
See the Medical Disclaimer for the full scope statement.
5. Eligibility
The Service is intended for:
- users who are at least 18 years old;
- professional or research use by clinicians, researchers, residents, PhD students, psychologists and small research teams;
- workflow design, not real patient care.
The Service is not intended for, and you may not use it as, a patient seeking medical care or as a consumer-facing health app.
6. Accounts and Google connection
Sign-in is provided through Google OAuth. By signing in you allow kResearch to receive basic Google profile information (name, email, Google account identifier).
Basic sign-in requests only your identity (OpenID, email, basic profile). Google Forms / Sheets generation is a separate, optional step: only if you choose “Connect Google Drive” does kResearch request Google Workspace access, and it then requests the single minimal drive.file scope — access limited to the files kResearch creates for you, never the rest of your Drive. kResearch uses those permissions only to operate the user-facing features you have asked for; see the Privacy Policy for details.
You may revoke kResearch’s access at any time in your Google Account settings. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. If you believe your kResearch session was used without your authorization, sign out and revoke access.
7. User responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the following:
- No PHI. Do not upload, paste or enter real patient health records, protected health information (PHI), directly identifiable patient data, or any equivalent regulated health data into the Service.
- Respondent data should live in your own Google Forms / Google Sheets / Google Drive workspace, not in kResearch.
- You are responsible for IRB / ethics committee approval, informed consent procedures, study protocol design, sponsor obligations and local privacy and research laws (including HIPAA, GDPR or any other regime that may apply to you).
- You are responsible for validating forms, scoring logic, variable names, codebooks, statistical workflows and any AI-generated content before using them in research material.
- You are responsible for confirming you have the rights and licenses to use any third-party scales, instruments or other content you put into a study.
8. Scale licensing
The Service’s scale catalog combines public-domain instruments (for which item wording may be embedded) and validated copyrighted instruments (which appear as metadata, item counts and structure only, with placeholder items in any generated form). The kit ZIP documents the per-scale status.
You must obtain the necessary rights or licenses before using protected instruments in your research. kResearch does not grant you any license to third-party scales and is not the licensor of any third-party instrument.
9. AI features
AI-assisted features are produced by third-party large language models (currently Anthropic Claude and/or OpenAI, depending on configuration). AI output is a draft only. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated or inappropriate for your context.
You must review AI output before using it in any research material or downstream artifact. AI output must not be represented to study participants, patients or third parties as validated clinical, regulatory, statistical or legal advice.
10. Plans, pricing, paid access and refunds
kResearch offers Free, Starter and Pro plans. Plan limits, pricing and payment terms are described on the Pricing & Refund Policy page.
The final checkout amount, billing currency, applicable taxes, available payment methods and access period are shown to you before payment is taken.
Paid access is a one-time purchase for a fixed period. It does not auto-renew. Buying access again extends the paid-through date when an active period is already running.
11. Robokassa payment processing
Card payments are processed by Robokassa using the Robokassa payment form or related Robokassa payment infrastructure. kResearch does not store full card numbers or CVV.
kResearch receives only the payment metadata it needs to manage paid access, receipts, refunds and payment status, including: transaction ID, amount, currency, plan, payment status, masked card details (e.g. last four digits) if provided by Robokassa, and billing email.
Where applicable, electronic payment confirmation and receipts may be sent to your account email.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload PHI, real patient health records or directly identifiable patient data;
- use the Service to make diagnostic, treatment, triage, dosing or other clinical decisions for an individual patient;
- upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content;
- bypass, circumvent or interfere with plan quotas, rate limits or access controls;
- scrape the Service or extract its catalog at scale;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service except as permitted by mandatory law;
- run security probes, vulnerability scans or penetration tests against the Service without our prior written consent;
- abuse the AI features or our Google API access, including by automating excessive or wasteful calls;
- misrepresent AI-generated drafts as validated clinical, regulatory or research-ready material.
13. Service availability and changes
kResearch is an MVP. The Service may change, including changes to features, plan limits, quotas, supported AI providers and third-party integrations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, modify, suspend or remove features at our discretion, with reasonable notice for material changes that affect active paid access.
14. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the study descriptions, custom form sections, uploaded questionnaires and other content you provide. kResearch retains all rights in the underlying software, user interface, catalog structure, generated kit templates, documentation and service design, except for your content.
You grant kResearch a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service on your behalf, including sending it to the AI providers and Google APIs you authorize.
15. Third-party services
The Service relies on the following third parties:
- Google — Google OAuth, Google Forms, Google Sheets and Google Drive;
- AI providers — Anthropic Claude and/or OpenAI, when configured and triggered by you;
- Robokassa — card payment processing;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers for servers, database, cache and email/support tooling.
Use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, which are not under kResearch’s control.
16. Termination and account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Profile & account → Danger zone, or by emailing [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, if a payment fails and cannot be resolved, or if we otherwise reasonably believe termination is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
On account deletion, we remove your account data according to the Privacy Policy, except for records we are required to retain for legal, tax, accounting or payment obligations.
17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service, its AI features, its generated forms or any output will be accurate, complete, fit for a particular research, clinical, regulatory, statistical or publication purpose, or free from defects, interruptions or security incidents.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, kResearch and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for damages arising out of research outcomes, clinical decisions, regulatory submissions, statistical analyses, data protection incidents, payment processing or publication outcomes that involve use of the Service or its output.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law, including consumer protection law.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of the Service, unless mandatory consumer protection laws or other mandatory laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory rules of the law of the country where you habitually reside, where those rules apply.
19. Regional availability — Russian Federation
kResearch relies on Google OAuth for sign-in and on an optional Google Drive connection (the minimal drive.file scope) to generate Google Forms and Sheets. We are currently unable to offer an authorization method that meets the local authorization requirements for users located in the Russian Federation.
As a result, for requests located in the Russian Federation, Google sign-in and Google Drive connection are disabled, and access to features that require authorization is not provided. Public information pages — including the landing page, pricing and these legal documents — remain available. Availability is determined by the geographic origin of the request, not by nationality or citizenship.
